About Us

About Angie

I created Health in Practice to offer practical health education for professionals who care for others. My goal is to help staff in demanding care roles feel better, function better, and care for themselves in ways that are realistic, useful, and respectful of the work they do every day.

My background includes a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, more than 10 years of experience in nutrition, fitness, and health education, prior ownership of a yoga studio, trauma-informed workshop experience, and current work in behavioral health while completing my MSW.

I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, with additional trauma-informed yoga training. These experiences continue to shape the way I think about movement, posture, decompression, and realistic health support for people in high-stress roles.

Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of populations, including vulnerable and trauma-exposed communities, individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence survivors, people with disabilities, veterans, caregivers, and others in high-stress support roles.

I created Health in Practice because I saw a need for something more practical than generic wellness programming. Many professionals spend their days caring for others while their own health gets pushed aside. I wanted to build something that offers realistic support around nutrition, posture and decompression, movement, and sustainable health habits — support that fits real life, not ideal life.

My approach is practical, grounded, and nonjudgmental. Rather than asking people to overhaul everything, I focus on useful strategies that can help support energy, recovery, and day-to-day well-being in ways that are actually manageable.

Through Health in Practice, I am especially passionate about supporting nonprofits, behavioral health agencies, schools, hospitals, senior care communities, and other organizations whose staff spend their days caring for others.
